Saajan, a carefree college youth, meets Kajal, the girl of his dreams, at a brothel where she is an innocent victim of the owner, Dhanraj. As Saajan falls in love with Kajal, their relationship is rejected by society, including his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sood, and his father, Col. Sood, who wants him to join the Indian army. Dhanraj also opposes the union, refusing to let any of his girls enter respectable society. Trapped between these forces, Saajan and his friends rescue Kajal from the brothel, leaving the question of whether his parents will accept them or Dhanraj's evilness will prevail.
