Plot

Dr. Clare Winslow, a Los Angeles seismologist, identifies the exact location and time of the long-awaited "Big One" earthquake after a series of minor tremors. She must fight city officials to release the warning to the public. As the quake approaches, she also hopes her family will be out of harm's way, while subplots follow other families coping with the preceding tremors.
