Stephanie Miller, 14, is bored on a family beach vacation until she meets David, a college student, on the boardwalk. Ignoring her parents' warnings, she goes with him to Wildwood, where a party with drinking turns sour when David flirts with another girl. A fight breaks out, and they flee to an amusement park, only to be stopped by police enforcing teen curfew. David is defiant, and officers find what looks like a marijuana cigarette on Stephanie—it's oregano. Escorted out of town, David suggests partying elsewhere, but Stephanie reveals her true age and he speeds off. The next day, she is content building sandcastles.
