June 1940 marks a turning point in French history as the nation's armed forces suffer a devastating defeat and its government agrees to an armistice, plunging the country into widespread uncertainty and despair. Amid the collapse of national resistance, a relatively unknown French general refuses to acknowledge surrender as the end of the struggle. Determined to keep the fight for independence alive, he escapes to London, where he begins gathering supporters and encouraging his fellow countrymen to resist. Despite having few resources, limited influence, and an uncertain path ahead, he embarks on an extraordinary mission to rebuild hope, unite those who reject defeat, and preserve France's freedom during one of its darkest chapters.
