Faced with severely overcrowded prisons and rising crime, the United States government introduces a controversial system that permits all criminal activity for twelve consecutive hours, during which every law is temporarily suspended. As the annual night of unrestricted violence begins, ordinary citizens barricade themselves inside their homes, hoping to survive until order is restored. For one family, however, their carefully planned security measures are put to the ultimate test when dangerous intruders target their residence. Trapped inside with no possibility of police assistance, they must confront terrifying threats, make impossible choices, and fight desperately to protect one another before the deadly twelve-hour nightmare finally comes to an end.
