Deuk-man, a returning student, has trouble finding lodging. Sookmyung, the boarding house owner, is fed up with her busy husband, who works in a narrow printing shop, and absurdly seduces Deuk-man. He moves out, but skepticism follows him. He gives up his rented house and is drawn to another, yet the humiliation of being a slave to the castle becomes unbearable. Deuk-man abandons everything, takes to the streets, wipes glass from high-rise buildings, registers for the new semester, and shares his pain with friends.
